Good to know
Everything you might want to know before your first class. Can’t find your answer? Ask Liv.
Absolutely. Our All Levels Reformer classes are designed with complete beginners in mind: Liv talks you through the machine, cues every movement and offers easier or harder options, so you work at your own pace. Once you feel at home on the reformer, Intermediate classes move a little faster with more advanced spring work.
About Reformer Pilates →Still wondering?
Send Liv a message, or pick a class and come and see for yourself.
A reformer is a Pilates machine with a sliding carriage, adjustable springs, a footbar and straps. The springs add resistance and support to every movement, which builds strength and control with far less impact on your joints than a typical gym session.
Reformer classes use the Pilates machine and its springs for resistance. Barre Flow is ballet-inspired and moves through the barre, the mat and light hand-weights with small, controlled pulses set to music. Both are low-impact and beginner-friendly, and they work well together as two different sessions in your week.
Compare our classes →No. Every exercise can be made lighter or more challenging by changing the springs or the range of movement, so the same class works for someone brand new and someone who trains several times a week. Strength and flexibility are what Pilates builds, not what it requires.
Choose a class from the live timetable, fill in your details and pay online. It takes about a minute. You can book as a guest, or create an account to see and manage all your bookings in one place.
View the timetable →Classes are £16–£18 depending on the class, paid securely online when you book. Each class shows its price in the timetable.
Join the waitlist from the class page. If a space opens up, the first person on the waitlist is booked in automatically and we'll email you to let you know.
You can cancel from your account up to 12 hours before your class starts, which frees your reformer for someone on the waitlist. After that, bookings can't be cancelled online, so please get in touch as soon as you can if something comes up.
Manage your bookings →No, you can book as a guest. An account lets you see upcoming classes, cancel within the cancellation window and keep your health questionnaire up to date, so it saves time if you plan to come regularly.
Comfortable, close-fitting activewear that lets you move freely: loose clothing can catch on the springs. We recommend grip socks for safety on the reformer. Please leave jewellery that could snag at home.
Just a water bottle. Everything else, from the reformer to any small equipment, is ready for you in the studio.
Please arrive 5–10 minutes early, especially for your first class, so you can settle in and Liv can show you around the reformer before you start.
Classes last 50 minutes. Groups are kept deliberately small, with no more than 10 on the reformers and 12 for Barre Flow, so there's always time for hands-on adjustments and proper form.
Classes run at Sculptd Pilates, 105 Provence Dr, Bournemouth BH11 9FE.
